Ontario's Telemedicine - Today and Tomorrow

Telemedicine Today: Where we are.
Ontario has one of the largest and most active telemedicine networks in the world. With a mandate to serve all of Ontario, the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) is enabling people across the province to receive their health care closer to home as well as enabling health professionals and students to participate in distance education. This presentation will provide an overview of this fast growing service, describe how it works and how it has become simple and practical for health providers to use this technology.

Telemedicine: Where is it going?

Telemedicine technology has been around for many decades and has slowly been gaining popularity, particularly to support patients and providers in rural areas. Now, new technologies, applications and services promise to catapult telemedicine to the next level, providing benefit for all who need to look after their health. This presentation will look at how new technologies will be used in healthcare and how they will be an integral part of our emerging health care system.
